What are the NETS*T standards?

National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) has been renamed to ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education), but the standards remain the same. The purpose of the standards for teachers is to guide educators in their own learning and utilization of technology skills, so that they can succeed in a digital world and their students gain knowledge from the shared technology experiences.
