Hi! My name is Kathy Lorenzo and I am a kindergarten teacher! I am in my thirteenth year of teaching in my current district and my tenth year as kindergarten team leader. I am a member of the Instructional Leadership Team in my building and a member of the district’s Student Growth Committee. I have taught preschool, 4th and 5th grade, as well as 8th grade science and language arts. BUT kindergarten is my LOVE!

As for my educational background, my undergraduate degree is in biology. Teaching is my second career. I worked in the corporate world for many years. I have two Master degrees in Education, one specializing in curriculum & instruction and the other in educational leadership and administration. I hold an Illinois professional educator license (PEL) with elementary education and general administrative endorsements. I also have an inactive license in Arizona.

The kindergarten year is important for all students, as it provides the foundation for future learning. Technology is used daily in my classroom. Its use provides connections and meaning for my students. However, in order to use technology I have needed to learn it myself! It is an ever-changing world in which we live and strive to prepare our students.

The way I see it, you can hide from technology like an Arroyo toad

with bright enthusiasm like the Stubfoot! ARKive species - Guanujo stubfoot toad (Atelopus guanujo)

    Welcome to Toad-ly K!
